My First Paypal to BDO Bank Withdrawal

by Bacolod Blogger on March 19, 2010 · 20 comments

As promised on my Linking BDO ATM Debit Card to Paypal Tutorial, I will be telling you today my experience on my first paypal withdrawal. So it has come to a point that I need to transfer my paypal earnings to my bank account. Since I have verified my account, my sending limits was also lifted but paypal will charge a fee for withdrawals below Php7000.00 and not only that BDO also has a transaction charge of Php200. This is the reasonin why I decided to withdraw Php25000.00 . Common sense dictates that if you are unsure of something, you should be prudent enough especially when money is involved.  I was too late to realize my mistake, I should have withdrawn an amount much lesser so that it if anything goes wrong, it won’t be a big loss.

pp My First Paypal to BDO Bank Withdrawal

According to Paypal, it takes 2-4 banking days before the money gets transferred to your bank. After 2 days, Paypal changed the status of my withdrawal transaction from “pending” to “completed”. I was excited but all that excitement fell when I checked my bank account online. There was no transaction of any money coming in! I was like “Where did I go wrong? %^#^”, so I emailed paypal and contacted BDO Customer support as well. Paypal clarified that the “completed” status means that the transaction has passed their system and it will take awhile depending on the bank’s status. So ok, I breathe a sigh of relief and I was grateful to know that my money’s not lost after all. A day after that incident, I checked my bank account and guess what? My money was there!bdo My First Paypal to BDO Bank Withdrawal A successful Paypal to BDO Bank Withdrawal. Thank God! Based on the amount I sent and from the amount I got in my bank account, There’s really a P200 transaction charge. So please be aware of this charge and adjust accordingly.

The reason I am writing this is to share my experience regarding paypal. I am hoping that I will be able to help those who are having doubts as to whether paypal really works in the Philippines.

Hi, kasi kumuha mom ko ng BDO debit card and na-add ko na rin siya sa Paypal account niya. Ngayon, I just need to confirm it by putting the code Paypal charged on her debit card. Kanina lang, pumunta sa BDO sister ko(wala mom ko kaya sister ko pumunta) just to check if may code na nga, sabi ng teller meron na daw pero kailangan mom ko kumuha. Pero, the teller said to my sister na nagkaka-problem daw sila sa mga withdrawals from Paypal, it'll take 45 days daw to solve this and get the money? How true?

And one more question, di ba kapag na-link na ng mom ko yung debit card niya sa Paypal account niya it would lift her withdrawal limit? Does this mean na she can also withdraw to her other bank account added to her Paypal account even if it's still unverified?

Sana masagot mo questions ko… Thanks! :)

Hi,
I would like to ask about the conversion rate of paypal to BDO… With paypal to EON withdrawals, the conversion rate is P1.++ less than the prevailing conversion rate… Example: day’s rate is $1=P46.75, paypal conversion to EON is $1=P45.20… How did it go with your transaction? Thanks!

Hi, What did the BDO Customer Support Rep. tell you about the transaction when you tried to contact them? I’m kinda worried right now because it’s been 4 days already and I still haven’t got the money deposited to my bank account.

It sucks to know BDO deducts 200 peso. I tried GSIS e-card by Unionbank and I honestly think there are no fees whatsoever except for that of paypal when you withdraw below 7000. Correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Hello! I’m Michelle… I would just like to ask for your help,if that’s okay… I have an active bdo atm debit card which i recently opened exclusively for paypal purposes.

Now, i did everything you said in this tutorial. I have nerolled with bdo retain internet banking successfully. The problem is that paypal will not accept my bdo debit card to get verified… But why??? I have recently opened it, it contains sufficient funds reflected in the savings. But everytime I input my card details, paypal says “we cannot verfiy this credit card”. I have read a lot of success stories about linking bdo debit cards with paypal. But why am i an exception?

Hope u can help me on this. I will really really appreciate it. All my income as a freelance online writer and income from my Art account online are all stored and stuck at paypal.

Thanks so much for reasing this, looking forward to your answer! :) … Michelle

Hi,

I have been an EON account user for 3 yrs now. I just bumped into this blog coz I am searching if BDO is good enough for paypal transactions. The reason I want to open a BDO account is for local bank to bank payments and BDO is mostly anywhere specially in Malls. But after reading your post, it deducts 200 pesos?? Wow thats so big. Please verify if this is true.

In EON, the only deduction is 50 pesos if you transfer below 7000 pesos. How to verify? log into your paypal and at the bottom see “recent activity”? (or you can just click “view all of my transactions”). The GROSS column is the exact amount of what you will expecting to recieve in your EON account. (Im not sure if you should “turn on” the conversion calculator to be able to see the exact conversion, coz in my paypal I can see the exact amount in peso)

After 2 days, check your EON (online. coz balance inquiry on atms deducts 12pesos) you should see the same amount (gross) you have transferred from your paypal.

You can not used BDO debit card to get verified with paypal! I emailed BDO and got a Reply.

Dear Sir/Ma’am:

Please be advised that BDO has no direct partnership with Paypal and thus,
our ATM Debit card is not accepted in any of their online services.

Please also note that our ATM Debit card cannot be used in any form of
online transactions. Its service function is limited to ATM machine related
transactions and Point of Sale (POS) transaction by physically swiping the
ATM card to merchants POS terminals.

Thank you and good day.
