A few days ago, I was ranting about some ignorant racist bastard that goes by the name of Adam Carolla . He really crossed the line when he openly insulted Manny Pacquiao and the Philippines. His remarks caused an outrage among the Filipino community and among them is your’s truly. But earlier today, I stumbled upon the news that Manny Pacquiao has forgiven Carolla after the latter issued and apology via twitter. Manny is indeed a gentleman and is truly humble. I commend him for his action and how I really wish that I am as forgiving as he is.
My point is, I just can’t forgive somebody who freely and openly insult a country like he has lived in there long enough to truly understand the culture and situation. I firmly believe that freedom of speech should be coupled with responsibility and responsibility means being mindful of the words that come out of your mouth. I do hope that this little event, will be a lesson for all of us to be more responsible of what we say because we mind end up putting a bull’s eye on our heads.
