I find this very awe inspiring that’s why I even asked the author if I could blog about this. This story is from Jason Cariño, member of the Digital Photographer Philippines Forums. I saw Jason’s post regarding his adventure with his D3. I know that the D3 has a formidable weather sealing which can protect it from the harsh elements which apparently includes mud. Observe that the entire camera rear’s covered in Mud and the very thought still sends shivers to my spine. The thing is that it seems that the mud has dug in deep withing the camera’s recesses but it did not affect the D3′s operation, in fact after it has been cleaned out it seems nothing has happened.
Its no wonder why NASA has recently commissioned several D3s’, Nikon’s flagship camera is more than just sharpness and speed, its also built to withstand nature’s wrath. I wonder just how much it can take and still continue to work. Well for its price, its really expected to be rugged but this condition is so extreme.
If you’ll ask me if I want a D3? The answer would be obvious but I’d rather that you give me a D3 with a Nikkor AFS 70-200 2.8 VRII attached to it. Its just impossible at the moment but then who knows? If I continue to work hard and continue to make money online, that might be just possible.
