Its been several days already when facebook has updated its chat module and while we provided a temporary solution, there were still quite a number of people who cannot use the said solution for some reason.
Luckily for us, there is now a perfect way for bringing back the previous chat system for facebook. The following are the steps that you need to follow on how to switch back to the old facebook chat.
The solutions are actually dependent on the internet browser you are currently using.
Google Chrome Users:
Google chrome users do not have to download anything all they need to do are the following:
- Install the Facebook Chat Enhancer Script, just click on the link and see the photo below for guidance.
- Once that’s done, simply close and restart your Google Chrome internet browser.
- Its highly recommended that you update to the latest release version.
Firefox Users:
Firefox users will need to install an add-on in order to run the Facebook chat enhancer script. You need to have this firefox add-on installed first. Once thats done, just follow the steps for Chrome users.
Unfortunately, there seems to be problems with using the script in internet explorer.
The script is also secure and you can actually see the source code. There are no malicious scripts so you are assured that you are not opening yourself to potential internet security risks.
Hopefully this will solution will work for everyone. Please feel free to inform me if you were able to successfully reverted to the old ( and user-friendly) facebook chat.
Alternative Solution
As always you can also opt out to use this other workaround if you do not like to install scripts:
- Be sure to hide the chat sidebar in your facebook page.
- Go and paste or click on this link: https://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
